Education
I studied classical painting techniques as a teenager in Steilacoom, Washington with artist Joyce Rossiter before moving to Japan to work as an ESL English teacher. After living in Japan for two years I moved to NYC to pursue a successful modeling career which took me to European fashion capitals and where my free time was spent visiting The Louvre, The Prado, and The Uffizi museums and where my love of fine art began.
At the end of my modeling career I returned to teaching and taught middle school in Monza, Italy for 13 years and, upon retiring, rediscovered a passion for art.
For the most part I would consider myself a self-taught artist. However I did enroll in a Fine Drawing course at The Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Arts in July 2019 in order to improve my drawing skills under Juliette Artistides of Gage Academy in Seattle, Washington.
In 2020 I participated and took fine art courses on line with PleinAirLive and RealismLive. In January 2021 participated and took a watercolor course with WatercolorLive.
